Cultivating Creativity and Bridging Gaps with the Arts
The Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) is dedicated to enriching the lives of children and families in St. Lucie County through innovative after-school and summer programs. Our newly rebranded focus integrates the arts—visual arts, music, dance, and theater—with our commitment to academic support and family engagement.
We strive to bridge educational gaps by providing a dynamic environment where arts enrichment complements academic learning. Our programs aim to foster creativity, cultural appreciation, and personal growth, while also supporting academic progress and offering parental resources. Through this holistic approach, we empower families and enhance the educational experience for every child.
Our son has been attending MRC since kindergarten and he loves being there. Lots of friendly faces as well as an array of things to do for kids of all ages.

The Power of Arts-Based Enrichment Education
Why Arts-Based Education?
Boosts Academic Performance: Engaging in the arts helps students develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, which translate into better performance in core academic subjects like math and reading.
Enhances Cognitive Abilities: Studies have shown that children involved in arts education demonstrate improved memory, attention, and spatial-temporal skills, all of which are essential for academic success.
Encourages Emotional Development: The arts provide a safe space for self-expression, helping children build confidence, resilience, and empathy. These qualities are crucial for navigating the challenges of school and life.
Fosters a Love of Learning: By making learning fun and engaging, arts-based programs help students develop a lifelong love for education, reducing dropout rates and encouraging higher educational aspirations.
Builds Community and Belonging: Participation in group activities such as theater, dance, and music fosters a sense of community and belonging, helping children form positive relationships and stay engaged in school.
